Miss Listoe

Supervising Teacher

K-3 Teacher

I graduated from MSU Bozeman in 2017, with my Bachelors in Elementary Education. I also chose to do a focus area of Early Childhood Education, giving me more preparation for teaching pre-k through third grade. The 2019-2020 school year will be my third year teaching here in Basin, and my first year as the Supervising Teacher. I am very excited for the school year and all that is to come. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate all the continued support I have gotten, and your trust in me to teach your children.

If you have any questions or comments always feel free to contact me through phone, email, or coming into the school!

I use ClassDojo in my classroom for many reasons. The first, is it is a great classroom management tool. Using this for management you can both reward and take points away for student behavior. You can customize the types of points you give and take, and add notes as to why a point was given or taken. There is a parent side to ClassDojo where parents can see the points given and taken each day. I prefer to use this to only give points, and do not start out the year with any point deduction categories. I only add these if the same negative behaviors are happening over and over and I feel this is a good way to put a stop to it.

The second use of ClassDojo in my classroom is as a parent communication tool. A lot of parents prefer not to use personal numbers for messages. ClassDojo allows you to send messaged back and forth between parents in a format similar to text, but it is through the app.

ClassDojo also has a information feed, where I can post whole class or school messages and notices, or pictures of what we are doing in the classroom and allow many people to see it at once.

Finally, when everything happened with COVID I discovered the capability ClassDojo has to be a distance learning platform.

For the 2020-2021 school year, I am wanting to keep a constant online learning platform up to date and available for student with the daily lessons and work we are doing in the classroom. I have found that Google Classroom seems to be the best, most user platform for everyone, especially in a multi-grade classroom. I am hoping to use this in the classroom throughout the day as well to get students familiar with it, so transitions to online and distance learning don’t seem so daunting.
